There
are many things to consider before running a dog on a treadmill designed
specifically with the human in mind or any electric treadmill. Keep in mind,
humans have a shorter gait than most dogs and thus require a shorter treadmill.
Other reasons to be cautious in using a human treadmill for your dog are
stability and comfort. An unstable treadmill will be uncomfortable and unsafe
for a dog to use. The Dog Trotter frame construction provides a solid, sturdy
and secure foundation for the dog's running surface yet has a degree of
flexibility built into the running surface that is easier on the dogs joints.
The 2 or 4 point hook ups keep the dog centered right where they need to be to
feel safe and secure. Dog Trotter Treadmills are absolutely the safest K9
treadmills on the market. There are no openings or or gaps in the running
surface or sides for the dog to get their feet or toes caught in. One more
thing, electric treadmills have caused serious injuries to dogs because dogs
can't tell you when they have had enough. With our treadmills this not a
problem. The dog maintains his own pace.
